Our Reviews

Harry Moir, aged 14, Drums
Russ is a lot of fun and I think of him more as a good friend than a teacher. I have learnt 5 grades so far and I could not have a better teacher.

Harry’s Dad, Drums
Harry has been having drum lessons with Russ Davies for over 5 years. Harry has progressed through the grades but more importantly has had fun and grown as a drummer.

Jack Moir’s Dad, Guitar
Has thoroughly enjoyed his lessons with Simon. He has challenged Jack to play out of his comfort zone,as a result of this Jack has progressed quickly and expects to pass his grade 8 exam this year. We have always been made very welcome by Russ Davies and his teachers It is a wonderful atmosphere to learn in.

Mr Watson, Guitar and Keyboard (Chantelle and Danielle)
The music school staff are professional and dedicated to music development. Their enthusiasm and dedication has enabled both my daughters to enjoy both practice and playing music. They have both been successful on Keyboard and Guitar at Guildhall grade 8 standard.

Laura Richards, aged 15, Keyboard
I like learning Keyboard here as it is a friendly atmosphere and the teaching is to a very professional and high standard. I earned a merit in my recent grade 5 keyboard examination. I would recommend learning with Russ Davies to all my friends.

Danielle Watson, aged 17, Guitar
I have been coming here for guitar lessons for many years now and the teaching is second to none. Not only has teaching helped me to achieve grade 7 on the with merit on the classical guitar, I can play any song that I want as Simon's musical knowledge is the best of any one I know.

David Hazeel, Guitar
To Russ and Simon,
Just a brief note to say thank you at the end of what has been almost 5 Years of outstanding music lessons. I will take many fond memories with me from the fantastic experience of Rock School in 2008 and 2009 to Simon’s amazing ability to lose plectrums and break into Joe Satriani regardless of the song he was playing at the time. I don’t think that a better musical experience could have been had anywhere else and it is a real tribute to the standard of teaching that someone so perennially tone and rhythm deaf as myself has been able to stand on a stage and play to other people . It has been a fantastic 5 years. So once again thank you for a brilliant opportunity to enter the world of music and I wish every one at the music school all the very best for the future. Let me know about rock school next summer I will be back in Plymouth, hopefully.
Yours Sincerely,
David Hazeel
